Color is but the rainbow picked apart and assigned duties. Yellow
sets the tone for “happy” and Blue is a depressant,
famous for its appetite-suppressant qualities. Beyond its direct
impact on our moods, color, and indeed art, has the ability to
transport the spirit to other spheres.
We like
to think of The House as a canvas, upon which the interior life
projects her vision. This is done with the knowledge of the House’s
energy and demands, and the understanding of Light’s play
in its rooms.
This
is by far the most intuitive of labor, but we are currently designing
a “House Personality Test” in the hopes of isolating
the variances that make up the charm of a beautiful and gracious
home.
Whereas
an interior designer might insist on removing a few walls here
and building a few more there to showcase wealth and a certain
accumulation of treasures, we simply strive to get in touch with
the House as it is: the beholder of current life, the nest where
life springs from and begins anew everyday.
We draw
inspiration from the early men who drew on the walls of their
cave in Lasceaux, the Basotho People in Southern Africa, whose
houses themselves signify the womb and the creation, and from
every child who has ever taken a wax crayon to the walls of his
room.
